NEW NORMAL

Everyone isn’t blind, but we seem to act blind. We look, we see, it is there, we know it, and then we pretend it is not there, it’s the NEW NORMAL.
At times, we see different things happening in our society, in our surroundings but we act as if it’s not happening, we are now fond of calling white..black, exchanging black for white, hypocrisy everywhere. Instead of us saying the right thing at the right time, rather we pretend. Let’s not even use the word ‘pretense’. We feel that is what is meant to happen, but i tell you, it's not.
Often times, when we see anyone saying the right thing we feel he or she is hating on the victim.
A lot of scenes and stories we’ve snubbed and that of the girl who left her parent’s home because of her so called star boyfriend was rather praised instead of been rebuked. If it was an ordinary poor girl, criticisms would have filled her neck with sorts of comments on lack of home training, lack of manners or even tagged a gold digger in this our society. And all those who tried to criticize the girl who was disowned by her parent were said to hate on her.

The trend is on, everyone doesn’t support what is right anymore but rather support what they would benefit from or hoping they would get something from it. I must say, that’s a very bad stand.
This is a society, where we have the core and the periphery. The important and the less important, a world where we have the rich and the poor, the prominent and the less prominent ones, while the technology is working with our mindset. What we don’t know is that, the less important are the ones making the core feel more important. Instead of you saying things to their face, instead of us telling them what is right and give them straight replies on most of the false flags they raise, you won’t.

I see this top stars covering their stories for each other and that is what the periphery lacks. That’s why most of you are being used as instrument to penetrate into the world. Let’s learn to call a spade a spade.

So many people raising matters and preaching about things they don’t really practice, they are the ones that would go against these practices afterwards. I see it as seeking for fame instead. People don’t listen to what you say as much as observing if you practice what you say. Most people always comply with most of these things and when it comes to speaking, you see people praising them. I guess some sights are cleared now because we see people pouring out their minds in which we call savages (indirect replies).

A popular musical artist, portraying the true color of Nigeria was criticized at a point. Someone coming out to portray and explain the real state of our Nigeria was still blamed, saying some actions in the video were wrong. Do you want to say those things are not actually what it is? We still don’t want to call a spade a spade in this our society. We can as well say it lacks research.

This is Nigeria, where we criticize what we ought not to criticize, where we exchange black for white and where we are not being straight forward with each other. if only we can work on improving ourselves rather than criticizing opinions and thoughts.

We see different people criticizing people and being judgmental. We all are confused i guess.

The death of a one year old boy couldn’t be justified. Some termed it as destiny, but the truth is, it was due to the carelessness of both parents who decided to build a pool in the middle of the house where a baby lives. The new normal termed it destiny but that boy had every right to live. I still sympathize with them.

Another issue, can’t we just help ourselves instead of promoting and re broadcasting these celebrities we do not know? Let’s promote our friends in businesses rather than promoting those with fame already and some even go as far by creating havoc and arguments on the media to sustain the fame. The new normal I’m talking about here isn’t just what it is, it is what is happening and the way we criticize things. Businesses, talents, ambitions and the likes has failed due to the way we draw them down with our mouth and actions, due to the way some decided not to go for the truth but live on pretense. Because you are not prospering in a field doesn't mean you should be an hindrance to those that are profiting in the same field.

The issue of President Muhammad Buhari action towards the election at Ekiti shouldn’t be out of this. 30 policemen were sent to safeguard an election at Ekiti whereas a thing of such never happened when plateau was in crises.
We should just understand that when you wear a mask for so long, you forget who you were beneath it, and the thing is we understand how dangerous a mask can be. We all become what we pretend to be.
Behold we all should remember that There's a difference between playing and playing games. The former is an act of joy, the latter — an act.

And Shakespeare has said it all:
"So may the outward shows be least themselves:
The world is still deceived with ornament.
In law, what plea so tainted and corrupt,
But, being seasoned with a gracious voice,
Obscures the show of evil? In religion,
What damned error, but some sober brow
Will bless it and approve it with a text,
Hiding the grossness with fair ornament?
There is no vice so simple but assumes
Some mark of virtue on his outward parts."
